Samut Songkhram is a small coastal province about one hour southwest of Bangkok. The provincial capital is near the mouth of the Mae Klong river. Attractions include the Don Hoi Lot sandbar, a number of interesting temples and the picturesque riverside Amphawa district.
Minivans leave from northwest of Bangkok's Victory Monument, beneath the expressway, and stop outside the Thanachart Bank in Samut Songkhram. On weekends, the van continues a few more kilometers to Amphawa.
