Phayao Temples, Thailand

Founded as a semi-independent city-state in the 12th century, Phayao is now a small but picturesque town in northern Thailand. It is located on the shore of Kwan Phayao lake.

Merit-makers and tourists can visit the submerged temple in the lake and make offerings to the Buddha image there.

See the map in the Phayao Guide.
