Wat Suthat and the Giant Swing, Bangkok

History

The construction of Wat Suthat was begun by King Rama I in 1807, but not completed until the reign of King Rama III in 1847.

What to see

The temple has a magnificent ubosot with elaborate murals and a beautiful Buddha image.

The entrance fee is 20 baht, payable at the booth just inside the north gate. The temple is open from 8:30am to 9:00pm.

Getting there

Wat Suthat and the Giant Swing are located at the intersection of Dinso and Bamrung Muang roads, a 15-minute walk from Khao San Road.
