Dating from the 16th century, Wat Phra That Phanom enshrines a relic of the Buddha and is a popular pilgrimage for Thais. The chedi was rebuilt in 1976.
The main attraction is the Buddha relic enshrined in the tall, Lao-style chedi. The temple also has a small but interesting museum of Buddhist artifacts.
The temple is in That Phanom town, Nakhon Phanom province, and can be seen in a half-day trip from Nakhon Phanom.
