History

Wat Phlapphla Chai is an Ayutthaya-period temple in the center of Phetchaburi town.

What to see

The temple's ubosot (ordination hall) is locked and has a unused appearance but it is known for its beautifully carved wooden door panels. The building also features some interesting stucco work. The viharn (assembly hall) was contructed with the curved, boat-shaped lines characteristic of the Ayutthaya period.

Getting there

The temple is located on Damnoen Kasem road, almost opposite Wat Mahathat, near the center of town on the main song-taew route. It is a short walk from the Rabieng Rim Nam guesthouse.
